Being EFL teacher and freelance journalist, I often select acute topics for discussion, highlight new tendencies and approaches to this sphere of knowledge. I try to catch up with modern teaching techniques and I intend to continue my education. Courses’ program Building Teaching Skills through the Interactive Web is a wonderful opportunity to implement computer-assisted language learning in the classroom.
I strongly believe that my participation in online teacher-training course will benefit my students of EFL, ESP and Business English courses.
Firstly, I’m thrilled with the idea of developing a new course for CALL. Unfortunately, our University doesn’t have such courses to satisfy international education requirements. Introducing aspects of Web language studies into the curriculum and updating existing courses are the primary goals of my future work.
Secondly, I plan to start up a new Internet project under working title “Web-friendly English: Social Networking”. The main goal of the project is EFL teaching of volunteers from all over the world using social networks only.
Thirdly, I intend to organize an English-speaking club for students and teachers of our University. Club activities would be:
(1) Sharing new EFL teaching materials, lesson plans and programs
(2) Discussions and debates
(3) Seminars and workshops
(4) Games (Things, Monopoly, Mafia, etc.)
(5) Watching the movies
(6) Using Internet to twit, blog and skype in English
(7) Creating and improving our club’s site.
My strong desire is to make a valuable contribution to interactive EFL studies in Russia, especially in the Far East, Amur region, where I live and work. I am honored to do it with the help of online teacher-training course under the guidance of international specialists and educators.
